BLOOD DONOR sessions are being held today (Tuesday) at The King’s Centre, Edison Road, 2pm-4.30pm and 5.30pm– 8pm.

TODAY (Tuesday), at 2.30pm, Alison Cairns will talk to the Friendship Hour about the charity the ‘Lions Organisation’ in the Central Methodist Church Hall, Langney Road at 2.30pm - all welcome. There will be a bring and buy stall.

ALSO today David Barratt will be updating the Guild at St. Andrew’s URC about ‘The Winter Night Shelter’ at 2.30pm.

TOMORROW (Wednesday) the Hospice will host a Concert of Music and the Spoken Word to celebrate people cared for by the hospice. This will take place in the Winter Garden Floral Hall at 7.30pm. Admission by donation at the door.

ON FRIDAY, November 30, at 7.30pm, a Jazz Night, with the Branco Stoysin is being held in the Underground Theatre, Grove Road. Tickets, £10, at the Tourist Information Centre or at the door. On Saturday, December 1, 10am-noon the female trio The Botticellis will entertain at a Coffee morning. The coffee bar opens until 4pm to provide refreshments for those viewing the Christine Munro art exhibition. On Sunday, December 2, at 2.45pm, the Trafalgar Trio of piano, clarinet and violin present rarely played works of Mozart and Schumann. Tickets £9 in advance from the TIC or at the door.

THE PRESIDENT of Eastbourne Rambling Club, Graham Thompson will leading a five-mile leisurely ramble along the Downs which will include two climbs with downland views. This is on Saturday, December 1. Meet at the East Dean car park at 10am. Refreshments available at Birling Gap and the ramble should finish at 1pm. There is also a ‘Brisk Pace’ walk of eight miles on Saturday (1st) led by Pete and Naomi. Meet at The Avenue 9am. The walk starts at Bo-Peep car park 9.30am and finishes at 1pm.

ON SUNDAY, December 2 , John and Marion leading a 9 and half mile walk from the A267 layby, north of the Boship Roundabout. Meet at The Avenue 9.30am to co-ordinate transport. There will be several stiles and it could be muddy. Dry lunch available. You are asked to make a £2 voluntary contribution. Finish 3.30pm.

MOIRA House School, Upper Carlisle Road entrance, has a Christmas Bazaar, in aid of St. Wlfred’s Hospice , on Saturday, December 1, 10am-12.30pm with Santa Claus and stalls selling gifts, cakes etc. Refreshments available. Entrance £1, children free.

GET IN the mood for Christmas when the Salvation Army Musicians present their annual Carol Concert in the Royal Hippodrome Theatre, Seaside Road, at 7pm on Thursday, December 6. Tickets available in advance from the Theatres Box Office, TIC or at the door.

THE WRVS at The Russell Centre, Hyde Road, advises there is a range of activities available, including chess, bridge, scrabble, hairdressing (ladies and gents), manicures and a range of games such as dominoes , draughts and card games. On Friday afternoons music, dance and entertainment is provided. A freshly cooked lunch is available Monday – Friday at 12.30pm. ON SATURDAYS a Gymnastic Club is held for boys and girls aged 5 – 13 years, where they can participate under guidance of a qualified coach or instructor. Youngsters can work towards the British Gymnast’s Proficiency awards. Classes are: Beginners 11.30 – 12.30pm; Intermediate 10.30 – 11.30am; Advanced 9 – 10.30am.
