OLYMPIC TORCH RELAY EVENT – request for more volunteers: an Important message for Neighbourhood Watch members and friends. The Olympic Torch Relay will be passing through Sussex on Tuesday July 17 on its way towards London. This is a once in a lifetime occasion, and we are honoured to be selected to be on this prestigious route. The Sussex Neighbourhood Watch Federation has been approached by the organisers to request volunteers to help with the stewarding of the Olympic Torch Relay, and in particular for, Pevensey and Hastings. The organisers are looking to create a team of volunteers who will assist with marshalling spectators and closure of side roads. They have chosen to approach Neighbourhood Watch, recognising our long term commitment towards making Sussex a happy and safe place to live, work or visit. The organisers need to compile a list of adult individuals, including their full contact details, who would like to be part of this exciting event. You do not need to be a Neighbourhood Watch member, or a resident of the places mentioned, so people from surrounding areas are welcome to join in as well, along with families and friends. All Neighbourhood Watch Search Team members are especially welcome to help. For further information contact firstname.lastname@example.org or Michelle Eldridge on 01323 443520.
