THE Rotary Club of Sovereign Harbour’s second annual sponsored Harbour Walk, in aid of Guide Dogs for the Blind, held on Sunday April 22, was a great success, with over 100 walkers and over 40 dogs taking part.
The weather stayed bright and sunny throughout; Stephen Lloyd MP and the Mayor of Eastbourne, Cllr Carolyn Heaps completed the walk, as did Eastbourne Borough FC mascot, Sammy Sunshine. The Eastbourne Buzz mascot, Barnaby Bee was at the start to greet walkers. Photographs can be viewed at: www.harbourwalk.info,
FOLLOWING approval of its application for the regeneration of the Sovereign Harbour Retail Park, Prudential issued a statement in which it stated restrictions on the application went further than those agreed by planning officers, and the company now needs to assess the implications of the decision. Residents are concerned that, should the project not go ahead, the long awaited cross harbour bus link could be lost.
