ACTOR Daniel Hill is guest speaker at the first Ladies’ Lunch Club meetings of 2013. Daniel is best remembered for his role of Harvey Bains, the much put-upon manager of the Bayview Retirement Home in every episode of the hit TV sitcom Waiting For God.

Daniel will speak about his career, from his early days at the Bristol Old Vic, to his latest appearances in Holby City and Midsomer Murders. His most recent part was playing Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne.

The lunches are at the Langham Hotel on Tuesday, January 8, and Wednesday, January 9, noon for 12.30pm, and cost £18 per person. Gentlemen are welcome to attend the second lunch. You are advised to book as soon as possible. Call 731451 or email frontdesk@langhamhotel.co.uk to book or to obtain a copy of the Ladies’ Lunch Club programme for 2013.

THERE are only a few places left for An Evening with the Crooners at the Langham Hotel on Friday, January 18, when international award winning entertainer Dean Ager – who has been likened to Michael Bublé - will sing songs of the Rat Pack era at a musical cabaret dinner, including those made popular by Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jnr and Dean Martin.
