THE Eastbourne and District Branch of the REME Association held its last monthly meeting on Wednesday, July 18, in the function room of the Red Lion in Stone Cross. Meetings are on the third Wednesday each month, 7.30pm, when members discuss items of interest and catch up with matters concerning the Corps.
The meeting was updated on the latest reductions in Army strength and how it will affect REME. The Association is always pleased to welcome ex-members of the Corps. All are encouraged to bring their wives along.
The Branch is especially keen to contact any ex-members as October 1 this year celebrates the 70th anniversary of the Corps being formed in 1942 and a celebratory dinner is planned. For further details call the Branch chairman on 01323 760547.
