DOWN YOUR WAY: Hampden Park & Willingdon Trees

GREAT news for anyone who has recently had the pleasure of welcoming a puppy into their lives.

Brand new Puppy Training Sessions are being held at the Willingdon Trees Community Centre in Maywood Avenue, starting on Thursday November 8 from 6.30pm till 7.30pm. Call Sarah on 07817 081510.

FOR residents who will be attending the Police Street Meetings at Welbeck Close and the junction of Percival Road and Wilton Avenue on Thursday November 8, there will be a new face to welcome. PCSO Chris Wild is joining the local PCSO team, as Zoe Ayres has left the Hampden Park patch and has been moved to the Town Centre. Chris is keen to get to know local people, so do get out there and meet him.

WE ARE now lucky enough to have our very own War Memorial in the heart of the Hampden Park. On Sunday November 11 at 3 pm there will be a Remembrance Day Service, attended by Stephen Lloyd MP and the Colours of the Royal Sussex Regiment. The congregation is asked to be in place by 2.45pm to ensure a prompt start to the service, to remember all those who gave their lives for us in the various Wars.

DO YOU enjoy a really lively and interesting meeting? If so you will not want to miss the Eastbourne Neighbourhood Watch Annual General Meeting which is being held this year at the Hampden Park Community Hall in Brodrick Road on Wednesday November 14 starting at 7pm. Stephen Lloyd MP and Inspector Rachel Barrow. And it is a good opportunity to find out how Neighbourhood Watch has progressed during the past year, and its plans for the future. Refreshments will be served, and Agendas and Minutes of last year’s meeting will be available at the door.

THERE will be a marvellous chance to purchase unique, hand made Christmas cards, on Saturday November 17 from 10am till Noon at the Broadway United Reform Church Hall Christmas Fair. The new hall, just off Lindfield Road, will also have lots of other stalls, including books and toys, and a super raffle.

It will soon be time to put on your dancing shoes. On Saturday November 17th at the St Peter’s Community Hall in The Hydenye, there is a Tea Dance, from 2pm till 4.30pm and the modest entrance fee includes tea and cakes. Don’t worry if you do not have a dancing partner, because the afternoon is run by the Wright School of Dancing, and there are always members only too pleased to partner people.

If you would like to book your place beforehand, please ring Rosemary on 01323 507573. If any readers have parties or celebrations coming up, do consider using this delightful Hall, as there are still a few dates available, so please telephone Joan on 01323 509772.
