Have your say

THE Eastbourne Carnival Day is creeping ever nearer, and the next carnival meeting to discuss having a Hampden Park float will be on Thursday, March 22, March at 7pm at the Railway Club in Station Approach.

IT is Sports Relief Weekend from Friday, March 23- Sunday, March 25 inclusive and our local Sainsbury’s in Broadwater Way, Hampden Park are marking the occasion with some great fund-raising events.

On the Friday they will be having a tombola and cake stall, and members of staff will be cycling the equivalent mileage from Eastbourne to Chichester on an exercise bike.

On the Saturday from noon to 12.30 pm tis a demonstration by Sussex Stars Cheerleading Team; from 1.45pm - 2.30pm there will be a Zumba demonstration by Kayjay Zumba. From 3pm-3.30pm there will be a demonstration by Sama Karate.

I MENTIONED the talk being given at the Broadway United Church’s Friendship Hour on Wednesday 28th March in my column last week. I have now been told that there will be refreshments, including delicious hot cross buns. There will be NO Friendship Hour on Wednesday 4h April or Wednesday 11th April, but it will resume on Wednesday 18th April, when there will be a delightful talk about the History of Valentine Cards, and an impressive display of cards to illustrate.

HOW good are readers at neatly packing bags? If you can give a bit of time between 10am and 4pm on Saturday 7th April, (Easter Saturday), your help would be greatly appreciated at the Eastbourne ESK Warehouse in Courtlands Road. Rachel and her colleagues from the Special Parents Group from Maywood Avenue, are bag-packing to raise funds for the Sensory Garden they are helping to plan for the Childrens’ Centre there. They would welcome any support. Ring 07522 847742 for details.
