ALFRESCO dining and an auction is the next fund raising event for the JPK Project which aims to provide supported residential accommodation alongside meaningful day time provision for people with a learning disability. This event is from 6pm on Saturday August 25 at The Cottage in Dittons Road Polegate, by kind permission of Maureen and John Males. There will be a live band with QED, informal cuisine, auction, raffle, bar and dancing. There is parking in Shephams Lane nearby. Tickets, £10 each, can be obtained from project co-ordinator Jill Parker on 486179 or write to her at 7 Wannock Avenue, Lower Willingdon BN20 9RP.
THE planning application for this much-needed JPK residential centre to be built on the Edgmond Church site in Old Town will go before Eastbourne Borough Council’s planning committee on September 4. It has been a long struggle to get this far with many hurdles to overcome along the way but Jill Parker and the other JPK trustees have never given up hope their dream would one day become a reality. Hopefully planning permission will now be passed and funds from grant making trusts can be released. Google Eastbourne Borough Council Planning Applications then click on Eastbourne Borough Council online Planning Applications Search, then enter the planning application number EB/2012/0473. You can then view the details and comment on the application. Alternatively write to Ms Jane Sabin Case Officer, Development Control, Eastbourne Borough Council 1 Grove Road, Eastbourne BN21 4TW.
