Double wins for Xander in Wales

This is part of a structured series of unrestricted junior badminton tournaments that take place throughout Wales, open to all players and home to Xander’s regular doubles partner from the Badminton England circuit, Michael Pritchard.

Saturday saw a great pool of talented young players from across Wales and the North West of England compete in the U15 age group. After reaching the semi-final in the U15 Singles, falling just short of a trophy, Xander fought hard in the doubles events to win the U15 Boy’s Doubles (with Pritchard), without dropping a set! Xander then partnered Abbie Cottrill in the U15 Mixed Doubles, finishing as runner-up in the final for a second U15 trophy.

The next day was U17s. Xander and Michael played “out of their skins” to emerge victorious again in the U17 Boy’s Doubles. An amazing achievement with both players 3 years young against several U17 County players from Cheshire and North Wales!
