EASTBOURNE’S Dotto train went dotty to raise charity cash.
The train, which makes its way along the prom, was covered in dots to mark the Go Dotty for Demelza week.
The two land trains that provide transport along the promenade appeared from the depot in a dotty livery to support the Demelza Hospice Care for Children volunteer fundraisers in the town.
In just one day more than £77 was raised in the bucket collection. Vicki Pickering, area fundraiser for the charity, said that Go Dotty week will raise thousands of pounds thanks to the contributions and awareness for the charity created by organisations such as Stagecoach.
David Barrie, operations manager for Stagecoach, said that the company was delighted to go dotty.
“Our engineering team initially thought it was April Fool’s Day when we requested that the trains were temporarily covered in red dots.”
