SEAFORD Donkey Derby is set to return to the town on Bank Holiday Monday (August 27) and will include fun for all the family.

The popular annual event, which will support good causes, will be taking place at the Martello Fields and as well as the usual fun race, there will be plenty of stalls.

The fundraiser is being organised by Newhaven, Peacehaven and Seaford Lions and includes a funfair, classic cars, birds of prey, games, Punch & Judy and a beer tent.

The opening ceremony begins at 12.30pm with a series of events taking place throughout the day.

There is still time for young jockeys to sign up to the Donkey Derby.

All riders must be experienced, aged between 10 and 15 and weigh no more than eight stone.

They must wear their own correctly fitted hard riding hat and suitable clothing as well as providing parent’s or guardian’s written consent.

NPS Lions has thanked its partners Seahaven Lionesses and other groups who have supported their fundraisers over the past year.
