Don your wellies for fundraising seafront stroll

EASTBOURNE’S RNLI is urging the town’s people to don their wellies and take part in the annual Stroll on Sunday fundraiser along Eastbourne seafront.

Walkers of all ages will take part in the welly walk and can choose to stroll from either of the lifeboat station to the Lifeboat Museum at the Wish Tower slopes. The event will take place on January 30 and will be part of the RNLI SOS, a nationwide fundraiser for the lifeboats.

Participants are asked to wear their most colourful wellies of decorate their wellies for the event. There will be prizes for the best wellies for children between six and 16.

Walkers will also have the chance to meet the volunteer lifeboat crew and learn more about the two boats which serve Eastbourne.

The walk will start at the All-weather Lifeboat station at Sovereign Harbour at 10am. But those who want a smaller challenge can start strolling at the Inshore Lifeboat station at Fisherman’s Green at 11am.

Participants can register for the event at either site.

Entry in advance is £4 for adults and £3 for children. Those registering on the day will be charged £5 for adults and £4 for children.
