Police have released CCTV footage and images of men responsible for an attempted robbery at a jewellers in Seaford.
The break-in happened on Saturday, November 24 at around 4.30pm when three men entered Marks Jewellery and Antiques in High Street and threatened a male member of staff with a hammer.
The robbers then attempted to steal items from the shop but the member of staff told them to leave and threatened to call the police. All three ran from the shop without stealing anything.
Detective Constable Sean Stapley, of East Sussex CID, said: “We believe that the men were outside the shop just before they committed the robbery and covered their faces.
“We’d like to hear from anyone who thinks they may recognise the men from the images released, or who thinks they saw them acting suspiciously in the area of the shop prior to the robbery taking place.
“This was an extremely frightening incident for the victim and we are anxious to hear from anyone who may have information for us. The first man is described as white, in his early 20s, approximately 5ft 7in to 5ft 8in tall and of slim build. He was wearing a dark coloured jacket with the hood up and scarf around his face and wearing elasticated grey jogging bottoms. He was carrying a hammer.
The second man is described as slight taller than the first man, white, slim build an in his early 20s. He was also wearing a dark coloured jacket with the hood up, a scarf which covered his face and grey or dark jogging bottoms.
The third man was wearing a black coloured jacket with the hood up and grey coloured jogging bottoms. It is believed that all three men were wearing gloves.
