The developers behind Shepham Wind Farm, which was given the red light by Wealden councillors last week, have spoken of their disappointment.
Galliford Try Renewables (GTR) wanted to build three giant wind turbines on green land off Shepham Lane in Polegate.
The Herald reported on the decision last week, as hundreds of locals and Polegate Town Council celebrated.
This week, A spokesperson from GTR said, “ We are extremely disappointed by the decision to refuse planning permission for Shepham Wind Farm, despite their officer’s recommendation for approval.
“We have worked very closely with the council, statutory consultees and industry experts to produce what they deemed to be an acceptable planning application.”
It is thought GTR may appeal against the decision but they remained tight-lipped about their next move and added, “We will now wait for the formal decision notice to be issued before considering our options.”
