There is disruption between Hastings and Ashford International this morning (Thursday).
Delays are expected until 9.30am due to a fault with the signalling system between Hastings and Rye and fewer trains are able to run on all lines.
Train services running through these stations may be cancelled or delayed by up to 30 minutes.
A Southern spokesperson said, “A fault with signal equipment is affecting train services between Hastings and Ashford Intl this morning, train services are able to operate but will be subject to some delay and for that reason, to help ease congestion the train services which normally operate during the morning peak between Rye and Ashford International will not run.
“A replacement bus service will operate from Ashford International station forecourt to Rye at 8.53am and from Rye to Ashford at 8.24am.
“Contractors from Network Rail, which owns and maintains the signalling and track, are attending the reported signalling fault and will be providing updates to us. Staff are on site and are investigating the cause of the problem.”
