A father had to rescue his two young sons after they became buried up to their necks in quicksand on the beach at Pevensey Bay this week.

Seven-year-old Louis Huntly and his three-year-old brother James were quickly rescued by their dad Stuart and escaped unhurt.

But Stuart and his wife Angie now want to warn other people of the dangers on the beach.

“We love the beach there and will keep going back but people need to know the danger,” said Stuart, a precision engineer.

The drama happened as the family went for a stroll along the beach at low tide.

“James is an absolute demon and had run off to play,” said Stuart. “Suddenly he just vanished.

“I heard a yelp and he was up to his next. Lucklily he had his arms out and that prevented him sinking further.

“Louis was up to his chest. I was shocked but managed to hoist them out.”
