A dog found ‘crying’ at Eastbourne Railway Station caused a national storm last week, and the council had more than 200 calls offering the dog a home.
But the dog has now been reunited with its original owners, after it was abandoned by someone who was supposed to be looking after it for them.
An Eastbourne Borough Council spokeswoman said, “The dog has now been reunited with its registered owner, who was not responsible for leaving him at the station and is delighted to have him back.
“The dog was in temporary care of another person when abandoned. We are grateful to all the offers of help from the public in this case.”
