This is the latest devastating picture taken from inside the Langney Shopping Centre which has been closed for almost three weeks following a major roof collapse.

Photographs reveal the true extent of the damage inside the centre, with masonry and girders shattering the the small Windmill Restaurant situated opposite the Tesco store.

On Monday, the centre’s owners met with structural engineers, loss adjusters and insurance staff to assess the future of the shopping mall, built in 1973.

Tests are now being carried out on samples of the reinforced concrete main structure to find out why the collapse occured and these results will determine when the shopping centre can re-open.
