Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was punched and scratched as she walked to Hampden Park train station on Thursday (October 30).
A 19-year-old hospital student nurse had finished her shift and was walking in Brassey Avenue at about 7.20pm when she witnessed an altercation between a couple, who she said were possibly part of the homeless community.
The woman then turned her attention to the nurse punching her in the face and stomach and scratching her before she apologised and stated she thought she was someone else and tried to shake her hand.
PC James Breeds said: “I am appealing for anyone who saw this unpleasant incident or anyone who knows the woman to contact us.
“She’s described as white, 5’ 4”, large wearing a big puffer jacket and had her hair in a tight ponytail.”
Anyone who has information is asked to contact police on 101, email firstname.lastname@example.org quoting serial 1571 30/10 or the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
