SIX people have been arrested in connection with burglaries after a spate of police raids in Eastbourne, Hastings, Rother and Wealden.
Properties were searched and stolen property recovered. The six suspects are believed to be responsible for approximately 28 house burglaries across East Sussex between November 9 and December 6. Those arrested are from Hastings, Westfield and Heathfield.
Detective Inspector Ian Williams said, “This was a major operation and the subsequent arrests will, I am convinced, mean less homes will be targeted this Christmas.
“I recognise burglary has a huge impact on the victims but people should be reassured there has been a reduction in house burglaries in East Sussex again this year.
“However, I would like to remind home owners that most burglars are opportunistic and to keep their properties safe over the festive period.
“If you have information on these or any other burglaries, no matter how insignificant contact Sussex Police on 0845 6070999 or Crime Stoppers on 0800 555111.”
