DETECTIVES have released CCTV images of two men wanted in connection with the robbery of two German students last month.
The 14-year-old victims were walking down an alleyway which leads to a footbridge over the railway line and towards Lottbridge Drive when they were threatened and robbed of their phones, cameras and sunglasses.
The two offenders were carrying a knife and a baseball bat and had scarves covering their faces. The incident happened at 11.20pm on August 22 and police are appealing for the two men to come forward.
Anyone with any information is asked to call 0845 6070999 quoting Operation Columbus.
Detective Inspector Paul Phelps of Eastbourne CID said, “This was a frightening experience for two young boys visiting Eastbourne for the first time. Fortunately, neither of them were injured but they were both very shaken. Officers have been patrolling the area throughout the night and making house to house enquiries.
“Although the robbery happened around 11.20pm we are hoping someone may have seen the offenders prior to the incident or when they ran off into Hazelwood Avenue. Someone must know who they are and where they live.”
