Police keen to speak to man

POLICE investigating an assault on a 24-year-old man at the Atlantis Nightclub in the early hours of Sunday are keen to speak to a man who may hold some vital information concerning the incident.

The atack happened outside the men’s toilets at around 2.30am on Sunday February 27 and the victim was taken to the Eastbourne District General Hospital for treatment.

Detective Constable Sheila Nicholson from Eastbourne CID said, “The victim is still very distressed and I would appeal to anyone who was in the Atlantis Nightclub between 2am and 2.40am and witnessed the assault to please come forward.”

The man is described as white, in his early 20s, with short dark hair and muscular.

He was wearing a short sleeved, light coloured t-shirt and jeans. He left the club with a woman who had long blonde hair and was wearing a short white skirt.

DC Nicholson said, “The identity of this man is urgently sought, given that he was in close proximity to the victim when the incident occurred.

“We would like to talk to him in order to eliminate him from our enquiries.”
