Man found unconscious lying in Eastbourne street

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Terminus Road early on Saturday morning.

At about 3am, the victim was walking with two friends in the pedestrian area between Seaside Road and Pevensey Road when he had an argument with two passing men.

He was then assaulted and knocked to the ground unconscious by one of the men.

He was found lying on the ground by a police officer and taken to hospital having suffering cuts and bruises to his face.

20-year-old man from Eastbourne was arrested nearby on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, questioned and released on bail until May 14.
