POLICE investigating the rape of a 17-year-old Hailsham girl in St Leonards-on-Sea have arrested three men.
The three suspects were all detained after a vehicle was stopped by officers in St Leonards late on Tuesday night (February 1).
Two of the men, aged 20 and 25, from St Leonards, were both arrested on suspicion of rape.
The other man, a 20-year-old, also from St Leonards, was arrested on suspicion of money laundering.
All three suspects are being held for questioning at Eastbourne Custody Centre.
The arrests were made in connection with the rape of a 17-year-old Hailsham girl at the Baldslow playing fields on January 14.
The teenager was raped by two men after she went out to get some fresh air shortly after 11pm.
As she turned into Harrow Lane from The Ridge, she was approached by two men on a footpath near the Baldslow playing fields.
The men shouted at her before one offender punched her to the ground while the other raped her.
