Eastbourne woman victim of Easter Sunday robbery

A woman had her handbag torn from her grasp during a street robbery in Eastbourne on Easter Sunday.

The incident happened at about 4.15pm as the victim, a local woman, was walking on her own in Bourne Street near its junction with Langney Road.

She was approached by a man riding a silver mountain bike on the pavement who took hold of her handbag and, after a struggle, ripped it from her.

A police spokesperson said: “We believe this incident would have been witnessed by members of the public and are asking anyone with information to contact us.
