Detailed statistics from Sussex Police reveal Eastbourne’s crime hotspots.

Crime hotspots include Terminus Road and around the railway station, which saw 69 crimes in May 2015. Many of these including anti-social behaviour and theft.

The Seaside and Pevensey Road area also saw a high crime rate in May 2015.

In Eastbourne and its surrounding areas, including Pevensey, Westham, Willingdon, Stone Cross and Polegate, police data shows between June 2014 and May 2015, there were 11,864 crimes in the area.

The breakdown of these crimes in the last 12 months are as follows:

Public order 423 3.57%

Robbery 58 0.49%

Shoplifting 867 7.31%

Theft from the person 104 0.88%

Vehicle crime 460 3.88%

Violence and sexual offences 2,229 18.79%
