The following are court results from Hastings Magistrates’ Court which covers the Eastbourne area from June 21-22.

June 21:

Kieran Burchmore, 25, of South Road, Hailsham, pleaded guilty to two charges of being in breach of a non-molestation order by sending Facebook and text messages. The offences took place at Hailsham on April 8 and 11. He was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison suspended for two years. Magistrates said the reason for the sentence was that it was aggravated by a number of offences and a vulnerable victim. The court also made a community order with a requirement to attend a domestic abuse perpetrators programme.

Lorenzo Damico, 18, of Pevensey Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to being in possession of a sharp bladed article in a public place. The offence took place at Langney Road, Eastbourne, on May 21 and involved a kitchen knife with a six inch blade. The offence happened during the period of a one year conditional discharge made by magistrates last August for criminal damage and affray. The court made a community order with a requirement of 250 hours of unpaid work.

Reece Page, 20, of Market Square, Hailsham, pleaded guilty to three charges of shoplifting. He stole a bottle of Grey Goose vodka, worth £30, from Waitrose, Hailsham, on March 3 and two bottles of Bells whisky, worth £38 from the Co-op, in Hailsham, on February 29. He also admitted stealing two tubs of baby powder, worth £19.98 from Co-op in Hailsham. He was sentenced to eight weeks in prison, suspended for one year. The court also made a community order with a requirement of 120 hours of unpaid work.

Gary Abbot, 56, of Button Street, Swanley, Kent, was found guilty of assault by beating. The offence took place at Hailsham on February 8. He was fined £700 and ordered to pay £200 in compensation and £620 in prosecution costs.

June 22:

Martin Belle, 46, of Ashford Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to being in possession of a quantity of heroin and to assaulting a police officer. The offences took place at Eldon Road, Eastbourne, on March 19. The court made a community order with a six week electronically monitored curfew between 9pm and 7am. It also made a community order with a drug rehabilitation requirement. He was also ordered to pay compensation of £50.

Andrea Cook, 51, of Aberdale Road, Polegate, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Fiesta on Station Road, Polegate, on June 4 while over the drink-drive limit. She gave a breath alcohol reading of 54 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35mg. She was fined £120 and banned from driving for 12 months.

Michael Howe, 51, of Hawthylands Road, Hailsham, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Focus on Western Road, Hailsham, on June 7 while over the drink-drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 48 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35mg. He was fined £120 and banned from driving for three years.

William Faulkner, 57, of Greenway, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to being in breach of a restraining order by placing a label on Winky the cat. The offence took place at Eastbourne on January 29. He was fined £440.

Lee Smith, 31, of Manor Road, Burgess Hill, pleaded guilty to two charges of assault by beating. The offences took place at The Blue Bar, Pevensey Road, Eastbourne, on March 26. He was fined a total of £250.
