THE JPK Project has been given a cash boost after a pair of newly-weds asked their guests to donate to charity instead of giving wedding gifts.
Julie Bevan, the niece of Jill Parker who runs the JPK Project, tied the knot with Tim Dunford in Kent and the guests were asked to make donations to the JPK Project, which is trying to build a supported living centre for people with learning difficulties in Eastbourne.
Julie and Tim Dunford recently presented Jill with a cheque of £5,150.
Jill said, “The JPK would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Julie and Tim for their enormous generosity in requesting donations rather than wedding gifts.
“When I learnt of their magnanimous decision I was totally overwhelmed and could not believe, at this very special and life-changing occasion, that they were considering others who are less fortunate.”
