Sussex Police continue to appeal for witnesses after two people were killed in a collison on Sunday (March 12).

Emergency services were called to Eastbourne Road at Ridgewood at 4.51pm after reports of a serious collision involving a white Peugeot Boxer van. Police say the van was travelling south and left the road colliding with a tree.

The two people in the van, a 22-year-old man and 27-year-old woman both from Uckfield, were both sadly declared dead at the scene.

Sergeant Alan Spicer said: “Sadly both the driver and his passenger died at the scene and the road was closed for a number of hours while emergency services were on scene. Anyone who saw what happened or may have seen the van prior to the collision or the collision itself is asked to contact police quoting Operation Eastern.”
