BOOK characters were brought to life at Moira House Girls School.

Pupils were celebrating World Book Day and the start of Book Week by dressing up as their literary favourites.

An array of characters filled the classrooms and corridors and the girls had the opportunity to parade their costumes during a special morning assembly.

Connie Stock-Best, Holly Broadhurst and Lucy Lamb from junior school were selected as the winners of their age groups.

Teachers also took part and dressed up and several members of the senior school staff volunteered to read stories to the younger girls. During the week the children also enjoyed quizzes and a book fair, which were all designed to promote reading.
