Police are increasingly concerned for the safety and welfare of a teenage boy who has gone missing for the second time in two weeks.

Fourteen-year-old Reece Pateman was last seen in Greenwich Way, Peacehaven, at 9.15am on Tuesday (May 5).

Reece, from St Leonards, is described as 5’ 4”, of medium build, with ginger hair and blue eyes, has a fair complexion and was wearing his school uniform of black trousers, black sweatshirt, white polo shirt and black shoes.

The teenager was also reported missing on Sunday, April 26 but was found safe and well in London a few days later.

Sergeant Kevin Petken said, “Reece has gone missing before and has a fascination for trains and buses. He has previously been found at railway stations in Sussex and as far afield as London and we are making enquiries with bus and rail companies and British Transport Police as part of our search.

“There is no evidence at this stage to suggest that any harm has befallen him, but we are concerned for him because he is autistic and his age. We believe he maybe heading for Luton in Bedfordshire.”

Anyone who has seen Reece or knows where he may have gone is asked to contact police via 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101, quoting serial 0459 of 05/05.
