A member of staff at Sussex Downs College has been shortlisted for the prestigious ‘Teacher of the Year’ prize at the TES FE Awards.
Mark Chutter, course leader for A Level English Literature and Lecturer in GCSE English at the college , is one of just six nominated teachers.
He will find out if he has won at a glittering awards ceremony to be held at the Grosvenor Park Hotel in London on February 27.
Mark said, “The editor of TES wrote to me with the news just before Christmas and when I opened the envelope I was absolutely shocked but thrilled!”
Melanie Hunt, the principal and chief executive of Sussex Downs College, added, “Mark is an inspirational teacher and we are delighted he has been shortlisted for this award.”
