The CELTA part-time and intensive training courses run through Sussex Downs College, are achieving higher than average national results.
The college has been offering CELTA courses for more than twenty years since launching the course in 1992.
It has been praised by previous students for providing a dedicated personal approach as the courses are limited to 12 students per cohort.
The Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) course at Sussex Downs College is a popular option for those with little or no previous teaching experience.
This course, also known as the Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), is one of the most widely taken qualifications of its kind.
Thousands of people each year choose CELTA to open up a whole world of exciting English language teaching opportunities, either at home or abroad.
On this course students become familiar with many aspects of English language teaching and get to practise teaching overseas in a supervised environment.
There is also a pre-course which helps with grammar.
Tasveer Shemza, the CELTA Co-ordinator at the college said, “The pre-CELTA grammar course has been designed in response to previous student’s requests.
“Most of our candidates are native speakers who are not confident about teaching grammar, therefore this pre-course has proved to be very successful in encouraging people to do the course and is boosting their chances of success.”
CELTA courses are offered at Sussex Downs College with two part-time courses held throughout the year. The courses run two days a week.
