Cigarettes stolen from Eastbourne newsagents in overnight burglary

Police are appealing for witnesses after cigarettes were stolen from a newsagents in Eastbourne.

Between 7pm on Friday (January 23) and 5.45am on Saturday (January 24) burglars broke into a shop in Victoria Drive and stole cash and thousands of pounds worth of cigarettes.

PC Dan Toft said, “We would like to hear from anyone that may have witnessed anyone acting suspiciously in the area and particularly anyone who is offered the chance to buy cheap cigarettes.

“Damage was caused to the shop and a large quantity of stock stolen. This type of offence can have a massive impact on small businesses serving their communities.
