CHRISTMAS has arrived for youngsters visiting the Eastbourne Arndale Centre’s magical festive display.
Eight-year-old Saskia Griffiths made a special visit after school with her sister Yasmin, aged six, and brother Jake, aged four, to see the dancing bears in the display situated in the Centre’s Main Square near Shades Restaurant.
They then found a few spare coins to make a wish in the display’s Wishing Well where all the proceeds will go towards Chestnut Tree House Hospice and the Polegate-based Children with Cancer Fund.
This year the centre has brand new Christmas decorations that have brought a huge positive response from shoppers who are delighted with the new look.
With just 23 days to go before the big day, there will be a host of activities happening in the centre including a Christmas Sunday Funday on December 11 to raise money for Chestnut Tree House Hospice whose volunteers will hold a tombola in the mall adjacent to Sainsburys.
Outside the centre in the precinct, there will be a Christmas market and choirs singing in aid of the hospice.
In addition there will be Clare’s facepainting in the centre on December 3, 11, 17 and 24 and balloon modelling on December 11.
Many of the shops will be opening late every Thursday until Christmas and most nights of Christmas week.
Eastbourne Arndale manager Bill Plumridge said, “It’s all systems go for Christmas!
“We’re delighted with the way the Centre is looking and with the very positive feedback we’ve had from customers.”
