TWO FAMILIES received an extra special gift with the arrival of babies on Christmas Day.
Both Robyn Morley and Rachael Scanes gave birth a few weeks early at the DGH on Christmas Day.
Little Lacey-May Stevenson is the first child of 17-year-old Robyn and partner Sonny Stevenson.
The teenager was due to give birth on January 19 but was induced and the new arrival came into the world at 3.45pm, weighing 5lbs.
Robyn, who lives in Westham, said the Christmas Day arrival ‘was a nice one’.
Robyn’s sister-in-law’s sister Rachael Scanes wasn’t due to give birth until January 23 but was taken to hospital on Christmas Eve after showing early signs of labour.
She was later sent home but in the early hours of Christmas Day her waters broke and at 4.45am she gave birth to her second child Holly Erin Owen, much to the joy of her family and partner Matthew Owen.
Rachael, 23, who lives in Hampden Park, said the arrival was ‘unexpected’ and agreed with friends and family who said, ‘it was the best present and the best gift we could have got’.
