LOCAL Marie Curie nurses and fundraisers are thanking everyone in Eastbourne who played a part in making the charity’s Great Daffodil Appeal a success this year.
Volunteer collectors were out across Sussex to encourage people to wear a daffodil pin and make a donation to support Marie Curie Nurses.
Money raised from the appeal helps Marie Curie Nurses to provide more free care to people with terminal cancer and other illnesses in their own homes.
Local Marie Curie community fundraiser Hollie Lucas said, “We are so grateful for the support shown by the people of Eastbourne for this year’s Great Daffodil Appeal.
“The appeal could not have taken place without the help of local volunteers who have worked very hard to raise funds and awareness of the work of Marie Curie Nurses.
“Early indications suggest the fundraising is on track with last year’s appeal which raised over £5million across the UK. The money will help us provide more free nursing care at a time when people need it most.”
