UNLOVED Christmas presents will have a second chance to bring a bit of happiness through a Polegate charity shop.

The Salvation Army shop in Polegate High Street will be offering people with unwanted Christmas presents the chance to give them a good home at a special gift amnesty scheme Re:gift on January 3.

Customers will be able to take any unwanted presents with the promise of everything being accepted until the end of February.

All donations will be either reused or recycled, with profits gift-aided to The Salvation Army to help fund its valuable work throughout the UK. Homeless services, elderly care, family tracing, addictions services and assistance at emergencies are just some of the services the well-loved charity provides across the country.

Although Salvation Army Trading Company shops welcome quality donations all year round, re:gift means that until the end of February nothing will be rejected. Even things that cannot be sold will be recycled wherever possible.
