Causeway School has raised £3,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support and seen their head teacher shave his head for the cause.

The pupils have been raising funds since September, after head teacher Gene Payne volunteered to shave his head if they reached the fundraising target.

There have been a number of activities going on in the school including a green themed mufti day and bake sale, Harley Mack’s sponsored silence, Sophie and Amy Briffitt and Mia Tuckey-Gosling have been selling handmade flower brooches for the charity and the pupils also raffled off a giant chocolate hamper.

They also held a Christmas fair which raised nearly £500. A raffle at the fair saw people win a two night hotel stay, theatre tickets, a trip on the Brighton Eye, toys, a food hamper and much more.

There was also a Christmas disco for Years Seven and Eight.

Mr Payne allowed pupils to help shave his head.
