The Causeway school is celebrating three awards at the Whole Education London awards ceremony for schools at the cutting edge of inspirational teaching and learning.

The school was honoured by the highly regarded Whole Education for its exceptional achievements in project based learning, engaging the wider community and transforming professional learning

The school was most proud of its award for its REAL Learning initiatives, which see students working with experts from the real world to develop and exhibit an array of artistic creations, scientific investigations and musical and dramatic productions.

The Causeway really put Eastbourne on the map by lifting an unprecedented third award of the evening for engaging the wider community through the establishment of its multiple cup winning Football Academy. The academy is a highly respected performing arts academy and student-led sports and activities evening for local people - which resulted in the achievement of the sports leaders award for many of its students.

Headteacher Gene Payne said, “At the Causeway we believe in learning and leading together – something very exciting is happening here at the moment and whilst itis wonderful to be recognised on a national level, for us this is all about our outstanding students and extremely hard-working staff.”
