Cattle evacuated after barn fire in Chiddingly

Firefighters were called to reports of a cattle shed fire in Chiddingly yesterday (June 3).

Three fire engines from Heathfield, Uckfield and Eastbourne were sent to the incident on Burgh Hill Road at 08.23am.

On arrival they found the cattle shed to be well alight.

The cattle had been safely evacuated.

Firefighters used four breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to tackle the flames.

The cause of the fire was found to be accidental.
