Cash and binoculars stolen from car in Seaford

A pair of binoculars worth hundreds of pounds and a small amount of cash were stolen when a car was broken into in Seaford.

The break-in to the Vauxhall Zafira, which is thought to have been unlocked while it was parked on a driveway in Headland Avenue, happened between 10am on Tuesday June 11 and 9.25am the following day.

The make of the binoculars is not known but they are believed to have been worth £300.

Local Police Community Support Officer Steve Carter said, “Local police would like to remind residents once again that they should keep their vehicles locked at all times, no matter where they are parked.

“This appears to have been an opportunistic theft and I can’t emphasise enough the importance of not leaving valuables in vehicles and always making sure that you lock your car every time you leave it.

“Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police on 101 quoting serial 0408 of 12 June. Alternatively call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
