A date has been set for next year’s Eastbourne Carnival.
Organisers of the popular event say Saturday May 31 is in the diary for the seafront procession and the theme will be Rio By The Sea.
It will be the third annual event and carnival pageant master Dave Cooper says next year’s will be bigger and better than ever before.
Dave said, “The Eastbourne Sunshine Carnival will once again take place in 2014. This will see us having brought the event back to Eastbourne seafront for the third year in a row after the previous absence of more than 15 years.
“This comes about as a result of an industrious management team led by myself and our patron Stephen Lloyd MP who has a very hands-on approach and is involved with all the management decisions.
“We will shortly be eliciting the support of businesses and the public once again to enter into the carnival and the forms are being prepared by the team in readiness for issue in November.
“One thing we have learnt over the years is that we cannot please everyone all of the time but we hope our selection of date and time will be agreeable.
“I would ask everyone to keep the date and time in their diaries and to keep in mind the theme of “Rio By The Sea uppermost in their thoughts as they plan and prepare for the event on Saturday May 31 at 4pm.”
This year’s event and bucket collection raised thousands of pounds for local charities.
