Firefighters were called out in the early hours of yesterday (Thursday) morning after a car was deliberately set alight in the town.
The Renault Scenic vehicle, believed to be an abandoned car, was in Selwyn Road when it was targeted.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 3.52am and a crew from Eastbourne attended the scene shortly afterwards.
They were at the scene until 4.19am and police were also in attendance.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police said the vehicle was believed to have been abandoned there a week ago.
Anyone who saw anything should contact police on 101 quoting serial 0081 of 9/1.
Firefighters from Eastbourne were called out to the Upperton area of the town the day before when two people were stuck in a lift.
The team headed to the property in Arundel Road on Wednesday after receiving a call at 9.34pm to release the trapped duo.
