Cap this - if you can

THERE is feelgood fun at the Devonshire Park Theatre this summer with the world premiere production of Roy Clarke's riotous farce The Moonbather – based on the legendary comedy Last of the Summer Wine.

The show is on until August 8 and the Eastbourne Herald has teamed up with Eastbourne Theatres to run a caption competition.

Simply send in your caption to the printed picture of Ruth Madoc thinking about Compo and you could win a set of four tickets to see the final night's performance.

Entries will be independently judged and the winning caption will be displayed in the theatre foyer on the night.

This nostalgic comedy opened to acclaim at the Devonshire Park Theatre on July 15.

The world premiere of the BBC classic comedy features a brand new story written and adapted by original author Clarke.

Ruth Madoc, as Meg, leads the star cast which includes Tony Adams (Crossroads) as the moonbather and Steven Pinder (Brookside) as hapless bugle-playing Gifford Bewmont who is trying desperately to keep the peace – and his long-term fiance.

To enter the competition simply send your caption entry (along with an email address or daytime telephone number) to: Aimee Pugh, Eastbourne Theatres, Winter Garden, Compton Street, Eastbourne, East Sussex, BN21 4BP or email Aimee.Pugh@Eastbourne.gov.uk. The competition closes on August 5.

• Evening performances are at 7.45pm with matinees on Wednesday and Saturday at 2.30pm. Call 412000 for tickets.
