Eastbourne police have uncovered a cannabis production with a street value of around £10,000 in the St Anthonys area of the town following an anonymous call from a member of public.
The discovery on Wednesday (July 10) came less than two weeks after 150 officers completed drugs warrants across the town as part of Operation Gryphus, during which £250,000 worth of illicit drugs were taken off the streets.
PC Dan Cloake, operations co-ordinator for Eastbourne, said, “This further seizure shows that since the day of action the public are feeling more able to tell local police of their concerns about drugs in the town.
“It also highlights that even anonymous information will be looked into.
“Cannabis production is the ATM of organised crime and all reports or information will be acted upon. The homeowner is helping police with their enquiries into this matter.
