A CHARITABLE Trust has donated £20,000 to pair a canine helper with someone who is physically disabled.

A puppy will be trained by Canine Partners from its infancy to adulthood to do everything from unloading washing machines to helping their human partner undress.

The Keith Baker Charitable Will Trust donated the money which could help someone in Eastbourne.

Chair of the trustees Bill Elliott said, “We were attracted to their request of support because we could see that an individual who had a need in our locality could be helped in a positive way.”

There are currently nine canine partnerships in East Sussex.

Trust and development officer for Canine Partners Cat Harvey said, “The funding will enable us to create another partnership in the East Sussex area.

“We currently have three applicants on our waiting list and we look forward to keeping the Trust updated on their progress.”
