A CANCER charity wants locals to turn Eastbourne yellow on Friday (March 2).
Marie Curie Cancer Care fundraisers will be dressed all in yellow to launch the charity’s Great Daffodil Appeal, which it hopes will raise cash to go towards providing free nursing care for local people who live at home while having to cope with a terminal illness.
People can help by making a donation in return for a daffodil pin and local Marie Curie nurse Sarah Richardson said, “Every donation will help us to provide more free nursing care hours, allowing people to spend their final days in the comfort of their own homes surrounded by family and friends.
“So please support Marie Curie Nurses and help us make a difference by making a donation and wearing a daffodil in March.”
People can donate at one of a host of collections in the area throughout March.
Volunteers will be at the Asda in Crumbles, Lagney Shopping Centre and Sainsbury’s in the Arndale Centre on Saturday, March 10, and then again at Asda the following day.
Then on Friday, March 16, and Saturday, March 17, there will be collections in Waitrose in the High Street.
