A social media campaign has been launched to try and reunite a lost dog with its owner.

The pooch was found wandering around Beachy Head by visitor Kelly Restall, who tried to contact the owner but found the phone was disconnected.

As she is from outside of Eastbourne, Kelly handed the dog in to the police for safekeeping.

The dog is now in the care of the Eastbourne dog warden awaiting pick-up by its owner.

In a post on Facebook Kelly writes, “Found a dog at Beachy Head. Have tried to ring owner but phone is disconnected. I am not from this area so has been taken in by the police.”
