An Eastbourne nightclub has helped its parent company win a top national entertainment award.

The Luminar Group, operators of Cameo in Langney Road, won the Dusk Til Dawn award for Best Entertainment, beating off competition from across the industry.

The company, which operates 53 nightclubs nationwide, has invested over £10million in improving its estate, including the development of its entertainment strategy.

Mike Gillman, general manager of Cameo, said, “We’re delighted our club has played a part in gaining the accolade. We focus on offering a memorable clubbing experience by providing the right atmosphere and attracting top talent.

“Our customers appreciate this approach and give us their support, especially when we host celebrity DJs such as Joel Corry.”

The award was made by the ALMR, the Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers. ALMR chief executive Kate Nicholls said, “The judges recognised the investment Luminar has made across the board, which has paid dividends for this outstanding company, aided by the decision to bring back a rigorous focus on the entertainment offer.”

Cameo, formerly called Kings, underwent a £1million revamp during winter 2012.
